SMART Recovery Facilitator Training Opportunity
The WRDATF is supporting SMART Recovery Ireland in its goal of establishing more SMART meetings in the region. There is currently one meeting taking place weekly in Galway City and there is interest in making more meetings available in Roscommon, Mayo and Galway. The WRDATF will fund 10 places in the next round of SMART Recovery Facilitator training at a cost of €350 per trainee.
Training will involve completing the online training package, attending two separate days of group training and also shadowing a current facilitator. This training will allow people to run a SMART meeting with confidence.
SMART Recovery Ireland are seeking applicants that have an interest in addiction recovery, are willing to complete the training and who will commit to helping run a SMART Recovery group in their area. Ideally, applicants will have some group facilitation skills and also some exposure to Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, however these are not prerequisites.
People can express their interest by contacting Amanda Quiqley, the SMART National Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org
. The cut-off date is 6th December 2019 and the next round of training will commence in early 2020.
